Gradually get back into your exercise routine

Among the things that aren’t normal after giving birth is looking like a model. Post-pregnancy bellies are soft and squishy, and your stomach won’t automatically shrink back to how it used to look because there’s no longer a baby in there.

While there’s no need to jump into a training regime to lose baby weight, you can gradually resume exercise as you feel up to it – it’s great for your mood and maintaining your fitness. Start with some short walks and slowly get back to your normal routine. The most important exercise to do in the early days are actually pelvic floor exercises, as these are essential to strengthen your pelvic muscles and maintain bladder control. Make sure you ask your caregiver about these exercises to ensure you’re doing them correctly.
