Q&A with Charlie Brown
NZ Fashion Week

What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
There is too many to name - it would have to be the amazing people I have met and the places I have been able to travel while promoting the Charlie Brown label.

Where do you get your inspiration?
I get a lot of my inspiration through nostalgia and I use the journeys that I have been on throughout my life to inspire me and add a personal touch to my collections.

How would you describe your personal style?
I like to mix it up and look different every day, I pick my outfits to suit my mood. Sometimes I want to look casual and other times I feel like wearing something a little more daring. I think fashion is about making a statement and I think that this is reflected in the Charlie Brown collection.

What is the favourite piece of clothing you own?
My 'Reality' jersey tunic is one of my favourite items and I'm loving the "Great Gig" denim jacket - I can't wait for the metallic version due out in September.

What is your best piece of fashion advice?
Wear the clothes, don't let the clothes wear you. Dress in a way that shows people who you really are and wear clothes that you feel comfortable and confident in. At Charlie Brown we aim for flattering styles with an eclectic twist that will make our customers feel both self-assured and sophisticated.

What other designers are you looking forward to seeing at NZ Fashion Week?
I love the delicate lines and the lace in Blak, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the collection.
