Sashaying down the catwalk in a stunning Michelle Yvette gown, Jaime Ridge opened the New Zealand Weddings showcase with pizzazz.

Designers including John Zimmerman, Sera Lilly, Alma Wong, Crane Brothers, Vinka Design, A La Robe and Anna Schimmel put on a show to melt even the hardest of hearts.

Frills, sequins and a couple of oversized bows featured in Michelle Yvette's collection, and if having New Zealand's most talked-about daughter wasn't show-stopping enough, the two dresses featuring see-through skirts absolutely did the trick.

Large headpieces from John Zimmerman complemented intricate lace and plunging backlines. A magnificent billowing skirt worked with perfectly placed off-the-shoulder feathers in his final dress, sure to suit the most princess of brides.

Layers of lace, subtle pin-stripes and contrasting waist sashes made for eye-catching flower girls in Sera Lilly's collection. Unique bandanna-style headpieces featured alongside the comparatively simple flowing skirts and dropped waists of her bridal gowns.

Grooms looking for something a little different need look no further than Crane Brothers and their suits in many shades of grey, accented with pink, orange and crimson ties.

For those after a slightly more casual gown, check out A La Robe. Imagine Tinkerbell as a bride - dresses were beautifully flowing, delicate with layers effortlessly coming in at the waist.

Vinka's intricately detailed lace bodices, many structured to well below the derriere, were stunning.

The variety of dresses was impressive - together these eight designers have created a showcase guaranteed to have a dress (and suit) that will satisfy any bride-to-be.

For them to use Jaime Ridge indicates that it must be a real low budget affair.

Should be 'here comes a girl one size too big for the dress'. Revolting.
