Ryan Gosling may have delivered a touching tribute to love Eva Mendes during his Golden Globes acceptance speech, but the latest word is that the Hollywood couple may be on the rocks.
Talk that the pair's relationship has "collapsed", comes after 43-year-old Eva did not accompany her 36-year-old Ryan during Tinsel Town's awards season, most recently at the Oscars, reports Woman's Day.
"He told her how bad it looked when she wasn't there when he won his Golden Globe in January, and that he was tired of having to make excuses for her," a source has told the publication.
The insider claims that the alleged tension between the pair has been caused by Ryan's close bond with La La Land co-star Emma Stone, who has obviously been present during the major awards ceremonies this year.
"Eva's crazy jealous," the source says, before adding that "Ryan feels stifled by Eva" as she does not indulge the limelight as much.
Recently addressing her absence from the spotlight, Eva told Shape Magazine that she preferred to be at home and look after the couple's daughters Esmeralda, two, and 11-month-old Amada.
"What people don’t know about me is that I love being home," she said.
"Instead of hitting the red carpet, I’d rather be with our girls."
She did however make a rare appearance at Ryan's Song To Song at South By South West premiere over the weekend, showing supported for her man.
While the actress didn't pose on the red carpet, she hinted she was present by posting a photo of the Paramount Theater where the movie premiered.
Ryan still happily posed for snaps in front of the media wall, and couldn't wipe the smile off his face.
It was in back in January when Ryan dedicated his acceptance speech to Eva after winning the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for his La La Land role.
"While I was dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second, and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer," he sweetly said.
The pair first met while starring alongside one another in The Place Beyond the Pines just over five years ago and hit it off so well that they struck up a romance shortly after the film had wrapped up.
