New Idea gets up close and personal with Robbie Magasiva, his younger brother and co-star Pua, and workmates Teuila Blakely and Frankie Adams.
What's your best festive memory?
Pua: When all of our family went to Ongaonga, in the Hawke's Bay.Robbie: We decided to make our own spit, which our family does in Samoa. We built a fire, but the pig was too heavy and the metal pipe melted, so we ended up cutting the pig into chunks. Everyone contributed. I think Pua was looking after the kids.
Pua: Yep, I was the entertainer. Every now and then I would poke at the fire and take off again.
Robbie: My other best memories are the first Christmas with my son, Austin, 15, and then the first Christmas with my 10-year-old daughter Sophie.
Teuila: My best memory to date would have to be the first Christmas I had with my son, James, 19. I remember buying all his presents. The joy of sharing this time of year with your children is amazing.
Frankie: I was five and my younger sister, Julie, and I had just got our ears pierced. My dad had wrapped up lots of boxes into this one massive one. It was exciting for us to open all the boxes wondering what we were getting. We found a little box with two sets of sleepers in it for my sister and me.
Do you have any family traditions at this time of year?
Robbie: When we were kids, I hated going to midnight mass because we were forced to go, but as we grew up we did it for Mum. Actually, my kids started to enjoy going to church.
Pua: If we weren't at church we'd be in trouble. We'd all have to dress up. We’d all go together and see our cousins. In the middle of mass I'd be falling asleep because it was late. I still go to church, Mum... in my mind!
Teuila: My family traditionally do Christmas breakfast, which allows me to go and party later because we don't spend the whole day cooking. Also, my mum is Mormon and Dad is Catholic. Mormons only go to church at Christmas if it happens to fall on a Sunday. What I really enjoyed growing up - even though I was raised in my mother's religion - was going to midnight mass at Christmas.
Frankie: Before my granny died six years ago, we used to go to her house every Christmas for a big lunch. We like to go to church as a family on Christmas morning, but last year we didn't, and I can't remember why. On Christmas Eve, we all stay at home and watch movies and hang out together eating chocolate.
What has been your best Christmas present?
Pua: I was six and my Sunday school gave me a toy M16 gun. They stuffed the nozzle with Mackintosh toffees, so I kept eating and playing and eventually I threw up.
Teuila: My son always gets me really thoughtful presents - like the year I was obsessed with getting a Jennifer Lopez calendar but they'd sold out... my son had got that for me four weeks earlier. I love to sing karaoke and one year he bought me SingStar. And when I was nine I got a Tenderheart Care Bear. I kept that bear with me to the point it became this raggedy old toy.

What do you want from Santa this year?
Robbie: The new iPhone. Nah, I don't. Nah, I do, actually. Santa, can you please give me the new iPhone?
Pua: I want a new PlayStation 3 with 160GB and an old-school Mini. Santa, please can I have just those two presents?
Teuila: I know what I want from Santa this year and that is an iPhone 4S, because I bought myself an iPhone 4 for Christmas last year and it got stolen.
Frankie: Travel vouchers are my one wish this Christmas. I really want to travel around Europe and to see the Greek Islands and Paris.
What are you going to be doing this holiday season?
Robbie: This Christmas, my son is in Samoa. My daughter will spend Christmas with her mum. I had them last year. I think we'll probably have a barbecue at home. I'll pop in and see Sophie and give her some presents and then pop home and be merry. I'm going to have three weeks off, and then on the back of that start promoting Sione's 2: Unfinished Business.
Pua: I'm spending it with my new family. I've got a baby, Jasmine, and my fiancee, Kourtney, and we'll be spending it with Kourtney's family chilling out at home. It will be my first Christmas with Jasmine actually realising what Christmas is - it's going to be very special. I also want to go camping, spend a lot of time at the beach, chillax and work on getting that PlayStation 3.
Frankie: I'll be with my family in Auckland for breakfast. I'm seeing friends for lunch and then I'm flying to Sydney for dinner with family. My two best friends and I are going to be in Sydney for New Year and to celebrate my 18th birthday.
Teuila: We're starting with a family breakfast and then my son is going off to his dad's house. I will then probably sleep because I'm so tired. It's been such an unbelievably awesome but busy year. This summer I'm taking it easy, and I'm looking forward to relaxing and having a happy time.
What was it like watching Sione's 2 (to be released in NZ on January 15) last week?
Robbie: I love it. This one tells the story and I actually think it's better than the first movie.
Pua: I liked it, and it's very different. You have to class it as two different movies.
Teuila: I truly believe all the fans who loved Sione's Wedding will love Sione's 2. It's coming out at a perfect time.
