If, like me, you find yourself in front of a computer screen most days, glasses are a must-have. I love my rectangular-framed specs, but what I don’t love is how they take over my face and diminish my features.
If you ever have difficulty choosing make-up to complement your pretty peepers, here are some tips to help ensure that your eyes don’t take the backseat when it comes to wearing glasses.
1 Keep your frames in mindIf you have bold, thick or dark frames, go with less make-up and more neutral tones like creams, sands and peaches. If your frames are light or rimless, you can go with a little more make-up and choose bolder, darker shadows like grey or bronze.
2 Avoid frosty eyeshadow
Glittery and/or frosty shadows will compete with the reflective nature of your lenses.
3 make sure brows are groomed
It makes sense. Since your glasses sit right up against your brows, make sure they’re well-shaped. If necessary, emphasise the colour with a brow pencil so they don’t get lost behind your frames.
4 get lippyIf you’re wearing a strong frame, consider wearing a stronger lip colour for balance.
5 Curl it, girl
If your long lashes brush up against your glasses, try curling them so that they’re away from your lenses. Volumising or thickening mascara formulas will most likely work best.
6 banish Dark circles
If you have dark rings under your eyes, glasses can sometimes accentuate these shadows. Wear concealer to help give the illusion of brightness under the eyes.
