"Many women do not ask for what they want during sex for fear of looking too forward. Instead they give out subtle signals," says Dr Ian Kerner, author of He Comes Next. Pick up on these to unleash her wild side and fulfil your fantasies

"With her hands about her head you have access to her vulnerable areas: her chest, stomach and sides," says sexual and relationship therapist Jenny Edwards. "It's a sign she'd like you to touch her breasts. It's a very passive position. By crossing her hands at her wrists she has already partially restrained herself."

What to do "Lightly, but with force, pin her down by the wrists as you kiss," says Kerner. "Next, use your knee to part her legs so you are between them. This is a sexually dominant gesture. Using her stockings or a tie, lightly bind her hands so the responsibility of her actions is taken away, which will make her less inhibited. Tell her it turns you on when she moans and groans."

"Putting both her hands on your chest creates a physical barrier between you," says Judi James, author of The Body Language Bible. "Women use their knees as a barrier, too, so if she's digging in her knees she wants you to stop. Her heels, however, act like spurs: digging them into the back of your legs or bum means keep going."

What to do "Her tension will inhibit testosterone - responsible for sexual desire," says Kerner. "Touch her least sensitive spots - the sides of her breasts and thighs - to allow the feel-good hormone oxytocin to flood her system. Her thighs will open wider as she gets more aroused. Let her back arch and hips point up before you start to touch her nipples and genitals."

"Eye contact is confrontational and signals dominance," says Dr Mark Goulston, clinical psychologist and author of The Six Secrets of a Lasting Relationship. "Women look away to indicate submission. Breaking this code indicates sexual confidence."

What to do "Retain eye contact as you caress her breats," says Dr Yvonne Fulbright, author of Pleasuring: The Secrets of Sexual Satisfaction. "This will cause a rush of dopamine - the body's reward chemical and will condition her brain to associate taking control with sexual pleasure." Next, let her take charge. "Pull her on top, then slide your hands up so she's holding your wrists to show her you submit," says Kerner.

But if her eyes flip down and right, she's bored. "This means she is mentally talking to herself."

What to do Studies in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour show that the way to guide a women to orgasm is via visualisation and fantasy. "Tease her by alluding to a previous steamy session," says Kerner. "Tell her how sexy she looked and how it turned you on. Ask what she enjoyed so you can get her talking about what she'd like you to do to her now."

Because most women are too shy to verbalise what they want sexually, they'll do to you what they want done to them," says Patti Wood, author of Success Signals: A Guide To Reading Body Language. "Pay attention to the pressure she uses and the length of time."

"Women are more likely to be turned on my biting than men; her pain threshold increases by 50 per cent when she's sexually aroused," says professor of sexual psychology Dr Barry Komisaruk. "This take the edge off pain making it arousing."

What to do "We are taught at a very young age that biting leads to punishment, ie, spanking," says Kerner. "Return the gesture, but use the same pressure so as to not hurt her. If she moans and bites you again, tell her that she's bad and lightly swat her buttocks. According to Russian scientists at the Novosibirsk Institute of Medicine, this will cause a rush of endorphins and encourage ore blood to flow to the genital area, which will make her final orgasm stronger. If she moans or laughs it's a sign she wants you to continue."
