Three words that describe the collection?
Easy, pragmatic glamour.

What was the inspiration behind the looks?
I was inspired by my mother, Dorothy, and the classic Australian woman. Her strength of character and practicality and her easy-going, feminine glamour. The simple things in life: shirtdresses, shorts, sundresses, tees and shirts. Ordinary things made luxurious through fabrication and proportion.

If the collection was captured on film, what kind of movie would it make? Who would be the stars?
It would be rather like an Australian version of Revolutionary Road or The Talented Mr Ripley or that old Australian classic The Summer Of The 17th Doll - thats a great movie! All about these women, the blokes in their lives and their summers on Bondi Beach. The perfect roles for Cate Blanchett, Toni Colette and Abbie Cornish.

Tell us about the colour palette. What is it about these hues that make them right for this season?
The colours are inspired by the sun-bleached colours of an Australian summer: shell pink, mint green, nude, gold and ivory. I think they're perfect for now because we have been through a lot of very bright colours and black recently so there's a freshness to these muted tones and a calming sophistication.

What is the key piece to understanding the range? Why?
The shirtdress. It is the focal point of the collection because of its easy, practical, masculine sensuality. And when it is lengthened to the ground and done over in silk charmeuse its so effortlessly chic.
