DEFINITION
Botanical name - Citrus aurantium.
This oil is made from 3% essential oil extracted from the flower by steam distillation in a jojoba oil base.
DESCRIPTION
Used as a primary ingredient in the first Eau de Cologne in the 18th Century. This exquisite oil's namesake is credited to a princess of Nerola in Italy who cherished wearing it as a perfume.
Responsible for the wonderful scent of the orange flower. It is yellowish in colour and takes one ton of flowers to extract one kilogram of oil; hence this oil's expensiveness. This is a Middle to Base Note oil.
APPLICATIONS
CALMING - Neroli, being slightly hypnotic and sleep inducing, is beneficial to overwrought bodies, brings welcome relief to insomnia; use in a MASSAGE OIL BLEND or treat yourself to a THERAPEUTIC BATH. A THERAPEUTIC BATH or gentle massage using DIRECT APPLICATION to the abdomen can bring calm when stress is causing stomach butterflies. In the week leading up to menstruation a Neroli THERAPEUTIC BATH a day can help alleviate premenstrual tension. Use only as directed and consult a health care professional if pain or symptoms persist.
STRENGTHENING - Wonderfully nurturing before stressful events or after traumatic experiences; use in a THERAPEUTIC BATH or MASSAGE OIL BLEND. Invaluable in skin care for the treatment of dry, sensitive or mature skin which blossoms under Neroli's gentle care. Make up a SKIN or FACIAL OIL.
