Lime Oil

DEFINITION

Botanical name - Citrus aurantifolia.
This essential oil is extracted from the fruit peel by cold pressing.

DESCRIPTION

A West Indian native that is now cultivated in warm climates world wide, Citrus aurantifolia was greatly valued by early navigators as a scurvy preventative.
The whole of this juicy, cooling fruit is steam distilled; it produces a sweetly characteristic, lively and reviving clear oil. This oil is a Top Note, vapourising quickly.

APPLICATIONS

A few drops in water in a SPRITZER has a refreshing effect on heat exhaustion. The aroma delivers blissful zest when used in a VAPOURISATION, is welcomed by children and makes an excellent after school brightener.

ASTRINGENT - Cooling as a men's aftershave or make up a SKIN or FACIAL OIL for a citrusy tang.

TEMPERATURE-REGULATING - Lime gives relief to the symptoms of catarrh build up, sinusitis, colds and flu. Provides temporary relief to coughs and the discomfort of sore throats. Use in a MASSAGE OIL BLEND to massage the chest and back, as a VAPOURISATION, or in a THERAPEUTIC BATH.

THIS OIL MAY BE IRRITATING TO SENSITIVE SKIN AND MAY INCREASE SKIN PHOTO SENSITIVITY. DO NOT USE BEFORE EXPOSURE TO SUN.
