Hunt around your house or the shops for a few different containers you can decorate. We used a bucket, watering-can, plastic box and wooden box.

• Planting containers n Acrylic paints n Paintbrushes n Potted plants n Cardboard n Glue n Paddle Pop sticks n Sharpie marker pens.

Make your own garden containers

STEP 1
Make sure your containers are completely clean and dry.
STEP 2
Paint your containers in bright colours (on the outside only). Or use a small paintbrush to decorate them with words, flowers, worms or any shapes or pictures you like. Let dry.
STEP 3
Put your potted plants in your decorated containers.
STEP 4
Paint Paddle Pop sticks and let dry. Cut stars or other shapes out of cardboard. Write plant names on cardboard tags and glue to Paddle Pop sticks. Stick your plant labels into the pots to name each plant.
