Following on from the success of the previous three Reflection titles comes Ken Duncan's new collection of stunning Australian images, Reflections 4. By the simple innovation of having the spine at the top of the book, with the pictures displayed both horizontally and vertically, the beautiful panoramic photographs are presented without the centre folds of a traditionally bound volume. The result is a gorgeous collection of spectacular Australian landscapes in an unusual wide-format book.
In the Reflection series, each picture is complemented by quotes from such well-known identities as Ghandhi, Churchill, John Lennon, and excerpts from the scriptures. As Ken points out, the beauty of God's creation is always there for those who will take time to appreciate it. Each stunning image draws you in to admire the beauty and diversity of the Australian landscape, from lush rainforests to the bright red dirt of the outback, the turquoise of the oceans and icy extremes on the Antarctic. This is what Ken Duncan's Reflections series is all about. It provides an opportunity to wander through many of Australia's hidden places and to take time out to reflect on the bigger picture of life.
Ken Duncan has been photographing the natural beauty of Australia for over 20 years, publishing a wide collection of books and limited edition prints. He has also captured America in a series of books and was invited by Mel Gibson to document the filming of The Passion Of The Christ. He has also been creative in how the images are sold, expanding into collections of jigsaw puzzles, computer jigsaws cds, 3D books and postcards, and has even written a landscape photography guide. He has been widely recognised with awards, including an ARIA award for Best Cover Art in 1988 for Midnight Oil's Diesel and Dust album, and in 2009 was awarded a Medal Of The Order of Australia for his services to landscape photography, publishing and the arts.
If you can make it into one of his galleries in Queensland, NSW or Victoria to see the limited-edition prints at full size, you will be overwhelmed with the beauty and detail captured in each shot.
