But what is it? I hear you ask. Is it knitting in the city? Well, yes and no. Urban knitting (which some have dubbed the world's most inoffensive form of graffiti) is knitting for objects in public places (such as knitting sweaters for trees, covers for street signs) or knitting items (flowers, leaves etc) which can be placed amongst the real thing for lucky people to find on their travels.

Check out Knitted Landscape (who kindly supplied the pictures with today's blog) and this blog which touches on the craze, for more great pictures and you'll quickly see why we're so keen about it. Also, stay tuned for a future issue of Better Homes and Gardens where we will be running our own Urban Knitting competition. Also, New Idea are currently trying to set a world knitting record, click here for more.
