Within weeks of starting at New Idea four years ago, I had the privelege of bringing you exclusive interviews with two amazing Kiwi families - and both sets of parents have been loyal friends to this magazine ever since. And in uncanny timing, in this issue, they have again given us exclusive interviews.

I have known the radio wedding couple Zane and Paula for more than six years and am still in awe in how solid their marriage is considering how they met at strangers at their own wedding. It is fantastic to see them fulfil their ultimate dream of having a daughter (see page 8).

And another family who have shared their lives with us is the parents of Charlotte Cleverly Bisman whose body was ravaged by meningitis when she was a baby. They chose New Idea to celebrate the massive news that she has taken her first steps, something they so wanted but were too scared to hope for (see page 18). However the progress is bittersweet, as without extra financial support they cannot get her the high-tech legs that will really give her freedom.

New Idea is helping with her cause, it would be wonderful if you were also able to as well.
