Five ways to get vegies in your diet.

 

1. Grilled tomatoes or field mushrooms are a great way to start your day with vegies.

2. If buying a juice, get one that is a combination of fruits and vegetables - there are some great tasting combos.

3. Take a raw carrot to work to munch on - or even a bag of baby carrots.

4. Make a big pot of vegetable soup and freeze it in bowl-sized portions for quick lunches you can take to work.

5. Make a crudite platter when you get home from work to nibble on. Include green beans, celery, raw carrots, snow peas and raw cauliflower. Make a low-fat dip as an accompaniment by blending cottage cheese, herbs, fromage frais and chicken stock.

the absolute best way to get more fruit and veges into your diet is to start your day with a green smoothie ... put water, large handful fresh parsley, two handfuls of baby spinach into blender, blend, then add banana, apple or pear, and handful of frozen berries - blueberries, blackcurrants. Blend!
