New home for a hound

Greyhounds are one of the most gentle and loving dog breeds. They're great with children, have never been on the list of dangerous breeds, and co-exist happily with other animals.

They're bred to race, but greyhounds are quiet dogs, content to sleep most of the day. Their daily exercise is all about speed, not time spent walking, so they require shorter periods of exercise than other dogs.

Greyhounds As Pets and other greyhound adoption programmes find foster and permanent homes for retired racers. The dogs are assessed for compatibility with animals, including cats and other breeds of dog. They're also neutered and given a thorough health and dental check before going on the adoption list.

By adopting a greyhound, not only are you saving a canine athlete from death row, but you will gain a devoted companion.
