Non-slip rugs - as seen on TV!

Household rugs on wooden floors can be more trouble than their worth!  We'll instead of going out and buying a non-slip backing to add onto the back of your rug, we've got an idea that'll save you some money!

What you'll need:

Liquid nails; Gloves

Process:

Step 1: Apply the liquid nails onto the rug backing and leave it to dry - back side up.

TIP: There are so many different materials that rugs are made from that it's a good idea to test a small patch on the underside of your rug to make sure it won't do any damage.

TIP: Make sure you use gloves to protect your hands and always apply the liquid nails in a well ventilated area.

TIP: This product will take 24 hours to dry.  Make sure you keep the mat in a place out of reach from the kids.

Step 2: Make sure the liquid nails is totally dry and then lie it down on your floorboards.

I was just wondering if it should be silicone not liquid nails?? I thought that liquid nails would be too hard.

I watched this episode last Friday and the lady peeled her glue away from the mat still leaving a glue film on the mat.

She peeled away the liquid nail glue which left a thin layer of glue on the mat.

Would this work on rugs that go on carpet? - mine seem to bunch up and I don't want to spend heaps of money on the mats that go underneath

Just try it on a piece of similar fabric or one corner of your rug for a 'crash test'. You should get your answers from this experiment.

I haven't seen the show. Looked up Liquid Nails on-line and they make a whole family of construction adhesives. Which on are they talking about for this non-slip rug application?

why not just try velcro on the corners, the rough side only would stick to the carpet andstop rugs moving.can be bought from any haberdashery store or sewing centre ..cheap
